We’ll know the Warriors official 2020 draft position on August 25
The Golden State Warriors will be waiting until August 25 to officially know which pick they’ll have in the 2020 NBA Draft.
With the NBA suspended since March and no return date in sight for the bulk of that time, the Golden State Warriors’ fanbase was immersing themselves in draft content.
While they could consider trading the pick, chances are they’ll at least let the lottery play out before looking to deal it. As many recall, they traded it to Brooklyn this past offseason but put a top-20 protection on it, something they’re certainly grateful for.
That said, we now know what that lottery will be, after initially being pushed back from it’s original May date. After approval of the return to play, the league also scheduled its NBA Draft Lottery, and that is set to take place on August 25.
This entire schedule will seem extremely fast-paced, and to be fair, it is. The league will return to play very late July and the draft will take place in late October. When next season will start is still up in the air but it seems a potential Christmas Day start is possible.
The 22-team resume to play is meant to give contending teams a chance to continue their quest towards the last seed in the playoffs. Sadly, the Warriors were nowhere near close to competing for it as they’re 15-50, the worst record in the NBA.
