Steven Gerrard Liverpool claim leaves Manchester United fans fuming

Former Premier League footballer Curtis Woodhouse has sent Manchester United fans into meltdown on social media. The former Birmingham City midfielder has taken to Twitter to debunk a number of what he calls ‘Manchester United myths’. To kick things off, Woodhouse claimed that Liverpool great Steven Gerrard is the ‘best midfielder England has produced in years’ in a post which highlighted his display against Germany for England back in 2001. “Best midfielder England has produced in years. Only club rivalry doesn’t allow this to be universally accepted. This lad could do absolutely everything, the complete footballer,” he wrote on the social media site. Before adding: “In 19 seasons at Manchester United Paul Scholes never won the clubs player of the year award. Gabriel Heinze, Javier Hernandez and Antonio Valencia did. Steven Gerrard in the same period won every PFA award available, voted by his fellow professionals.” “In his 19 years at Manchester United Paul Scholes won player of the month 4 times” “Scholes was never ever voted into the PFA team of the year. It’s voted for by the players of every team competing in the league that year. To be respected by your fellow professionals as the best is the highest accolade. Steven Gerrard hold the record of being voted in 8 times.” Woodhouse’s views have caused widespread anger on Twitter with United supporters, while Scholes' son even hitting back at the claims.
