Man Utd to let Jadon Sancho decide one thing as Ed Woodward negotiates
What Man Utd target Sancho has told friends as negotiations go on
Manchester United had high hopes for Gomes, with the playmaker making his debut when he was just 16 during Jose Mourinho’s time in charge.
But the playmaker quit Old Trafford in June after making just five Premier League appearances under Solskjaer this season.
Chelsea and Barcelona have both been linked yet neither have made a move for the free agent just yet.
And the Manchester Evening News say United’s longing for Sancho partly convinced Gomes to run down his contract and leave on a free.
The pair have supposedly struck up a good rapport over the years, with both players raised in London before making a move up north.
And it appears that United’s interest in Sancho was known to Gomes and led to the 19-year-old seeking a new challenge elsewhere.
