Gareth Bale’s loan move to Tottenham from Real Madrid has been ’completed’
Gareth Bale has completed a sensational return to Tottenham from Real Madrid.
This is according to the Daily Mail, who claim the deal was finalised on Wednesday night.
Bale, who fell out of favour at the Bernabeu under Zinedine Zidane last season, has agreed terms on a season-long loan deal.
The Wales international’s deal with Spurs is worth more than £13 million, part of which will be financed by Real Madrid.
The Daily Mail add that Bale is ‘relishing the prospect’ of relaunching his career at the club where he became a household name.
It’s currently unclear when Spurs will make an official announcement.
The Mail say this will happen ‘once a few minor contractual issues are signed’.
Bale’s return to Tottenham has been driven by Jose Mourinho, who reportedly felt the world-class forward’s arrival was ‘absolutely imperative’ following his team’s disappointing 1-0 defeat to Everton last Sunday.
Mourinho is understood to have told Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy that Bale’s drive and dynamism was required to enliven the team’s attack.
Dele Alli had been linked with a move in the opposite direction but the Mail understand this is not the case. The midfielder will not be heading to the Bernabeu.
Bale’s arrival will provide a massive boost for everybody associated with Tottenham.
