Disney Plus has Removed its Coronavirus Quality Throttling in the UK
Star Wars purists will be happy to hear that they can now watch the movies in their highest quality, because Disney Plus has removed the bandwidth restrictions it put in place for corona times.
Obviously, we're still in corona times, but some streaming services turned down the quality when the pandemic started ramping up, because there were concerns about whether broadband infrastructure could handle a bazillion people either working from home or having absolutely tit-all to do.
Now, it seems the problem has either passed or never actually materialised, so Disney+ is back to full quality, including picture and sound: 4K, HDR, Dolby Atmos, it's all there.
The Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Disney XD are all shutting down in the UK, so the streaming service is pretty much the only place to get your Disney fix now.
Restrictions were lifted on 29th June so given that it's now Cursed July, you shouldn't run into any problems at all. Which is handy, considering Friday is HAMILTON DAY.
Netflix also started turning its bitrate back up in mid-June, and pretty much everything is now streaming in full quality.
