All returned workers will be provided employment in Bihar, says Nitish Kumar

PATNA: Continuing inspection of quarantine centres through video conferencing for the second consecutive day on Saturday, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar said his government has taken a resolve to provide employment to all returned migrant workers within the state.
"It's government's resolve: all returned migrant workers will be provided employment in Bihar," he said.
He asked the officials to conduct a complete survey of all the migrant workers currently staying at the quarantine centres. "The survey’s questionnaire must include queries like where from the migrant worker has returned, what type of job he was doing at the place of last employment, what type of work he would like to do in Bihar so that he will not move out of the state, etc.," CM said.
More than 9.68 lakh people who returned from different states during the lockdown period are staying at 13,825 quarantine centres across the state, a state government official said on Saturday.
While inspecting the quarantine centres, the CM further asked the district officials to ensure opening of a bank account to all those inmates of the quarantine centres who still do not have any bank account in Bihar. He also asked for issuing Aadhaar number and ration card to all those inmates who do have these two documents.
