Officials with the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control announced 248 new cases of COVID-19 Saturday.State officials say that brings the state total to 9,895 confirmed cases.Six additional deaths were announced, bringing those who have died due to COVID-19 in South Carolina to 425.Forty-nine new cases were reported in the Upstate. Here are the totals by county: Cherokee (1), Greenville (30), Greenwood (3), Oconee (1), Pickens (4) and Spartanburg (10).State officials say as of May 22, 163,818 total tests have been performed in the state.
